Olympia Snowe rightly commented that she could not see the big need to rush when the benefits don’t go into effect for 3 years (even though Congress starts taxing us right away so they can save up a pool of money so they can say that “over 10 years, it’s deficit-neutral” even though it really ISN’T—-note the CBO concerns and click here for a great article by American Spectator called “CBO Finds Revised Bill Raises Taxes and Spending More than Original One” which includes a link where….. you can see the PDF of the CBO report).
Health Care “reform” will cost $1 trillion. The latest proposal is being passed in the dead of night (literally 1:00 AM). As Senator Mitch McConnell said “If this was a good bi-partisan bill, they would not try to deceive Americans but rather pass it in the light of day, not when people are pre-occupied with Christmas.”
Of course, to “buy” some of the votes, leaders promised some states (NE, VT) will have the increased Medicaid costs (that result from adding 31 million people) paid for (subsidized) by OTHER states.
